You can get a little more insight and appreciation for what goes on onstage next Friday when Peninsula Players Theatre hosts one of its stars for a pre-show seminar before Ken Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo takes the stage.
Actor Karl Hamilton will be featured during the pre-show seminar, which begins at 6:30 p.m. before the Sept. 4 production. The Chicago native is a Peninsula Players Theatre veteran, having appeared in Living on Love, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Bridges of Madison County and Miss Holmes in the past.
Hamilton will discuss the art of comedic timing and the challenges of performing fast-paced comedy.
Set in 1950s New York, Ken Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo tells the story of George and Charlotte Hay as they approach what could be their last chance to make it big. Peninsula Players Marketing Director Peter Kelly said last week that the comedy is a love letter to theater and strikes a chord with the actors involved in the show.
The pre-show seminar is free to attend if you plan to attend the show that evening. If you cannot make it that night, Moon Over Buffalo runs Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30 p.m., except for a 2 p.m. closing-day performance on Sunday, Sept. 6.
