United Way, Sturgeon Bay introduce Born Learning Trail

Your child’s fun does not have to stop when they need a break from the playground or beach at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay. The city of Sturgeon Bay and United Way of Door County joined forces to create the Born Learning Trail, part of a national program featuring interactive signs with fun, active learning activities for families to participate in together.

On Sturgeon Bay’s trail, volunteers helped paint a hopscotch course, letters and circles to start the fun. United Way of Door County Executive Director Amy Kohnle credited Child Care Community Coordinator Molly Gary with getting the ball rolling on the project’s installation and said she cannot wait to see how families interact with it for years to come.

Kohnle says more activities will be added to the trail next spring, and the paint will be refreshed annually.
