An expanded Sunflower Cottage is getting closer to reality thanks to public support of Sunshine Resources’ 5-5-5 Campaign. The trio of fives represents the $5 million needed to accomplish five strategic initiatives over the next five years.
Among the key projects is the nearly $1.9 million Sunflower Cottage, designed to support senior care and specialized programming, as well as upgrades to existing facilities and expansion into northern Door County. Sunshine Resources CEO Barry Metzentine says the organization has raised approximately 70% to 75% of the money needed for the Sunflower Cottage project, which he identified as the county’s most significant need. Director of Business Development Jeremy Pasczak says the Sunshine Resources story is a powerful one, and people are learning how the organization impacts their loved ones.
The 5-5-5 Campaign is also tasked with creating an alternative school program, developing a Northern Door facility and program, renovating the PATH building, modernizing its Yew Street facility, and establishing an endowment fund.
