Two drivers were injured Tuesday afternoon after a pickup truck and a semitrailer collided at an intersection in the Town of Casco.

The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department received a report of the crash at about 2:16 p.m. Sept. 22 at the intersection of County Highway C and County Highway K.

According to the preliminary investigation, an 80-year-old man was driving a 2014 Dodge pickup westbound on County Highway K. The driver stopped at the controlled intersection with County Highway C before proceeding westbound.

The pickup was then struck by a 2009 Peterbilt semitrailer traveling southbound on County Highway C. The semi was driven by a 25-year-old Green Bay man.

Both vehicles left the roadway following the collision. The semitrailer, which was hauling liquid manure, overturned in an adjacent ditch.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources responded to assist with spill mitigation, while the Kewaunee County Highway Department helped with traffic control.

Both drivers were transported to a Green Bay-area medical facility with injuries that were not immediately known.

Kewaunee County Sheriff Matt Joski said the investigation remains ongoing.
