Myrtle Caroline (Johnson) Clark

Myrtle Caroline (Johnson) Clark, 95, peacefully passed into the presence of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 14, 2023, at home with her family at her side.

Myrtle was born in Sturgeon Bay, WI on June 26, 1928 to William and Anna (Becher) Johnson. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Myrtle was raised on a small farm in Fish Creek, WI, the oldest of four daughters. At the age of 92, with the dedicated help of her daughter, Judy Phillips, she authored a book entitled “Memoirs of A Farm Girl” of which she was very proud. She was also a prolific writer of poems.

Myrtle graduated from Maple Grove Grade School, Gibraltar High School and Milwaukee County Hospital School of Nursing where she dedicated many years of caring for others as a registered nurse until she retired in 1983.

She married Frank J. Clark on June 16, 1973. They enjoyed 39 years of marriage, during which time they owned/operated a propane and appliance store in Sister Bay and traveled to all 50 states. They delighted in their 11 grandchildren and took each one on their own special adventure with them during that time.

Myrtle was a woman of deep and abiding faith. She was a life-long member of Zion United Methodist Church of Fish Creek where she enjoyed serving as Adult Sunday School Leader. Her church family was very dear to her. She also enjoyed spending time in solitude, worshiping her Lord as she marveled at His creation.

Myrtle dearly loved and nurtured her family, taking special delight in her 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by children, Judy (Warren) Phillips, Sturgeon Bay, Darrel (Tamara) Clark, Fish Creek, Jathia (Patty) Clark, Appleton, and Laurie (Danny) Giombi of St. Francis; youngest sister, Jeanette (Jerry) Buehler of West Bend; nieces and nephews, Rose, Robert, Debra, Sheryl, Jim, Paul and Todd; other numerous nieces, nephews; and family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; sisters, Bernice Kutschenreuter and Virginia Kaczmarek; and nephew, Dane Kaczmarek.

A memorial service will be held at Zion United Methodist Church, 8781 County Rd F, Fish Creek, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private inurnment will take place at Blossomberg Cemetery, Peninsula State Park.

In lieu of flowers, consider memorials to Zion United Methodist Church (8781 County Rd F, Fish Creek, WI 54212).

Loving appreciation to daughter, Laurie, for her devoted care and assistance in living fully during her cancer challenge and warm gratitude to dear friend, Chris Fenner, who also accompanied Myrtle on her cancer journey. Special thanks also to Amanda and Unity Hospice for their care and support.

Casperson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Sister Bay is assisting the Clark family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Myrtle may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www.caspersonfuneralhome.com.
