Frederick T. Wilke

Frederick T. Wilke, 87 years, Town of Sevastopol, was called home Sunday, November 26, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

     He was born September 30, 1936 in Valmy, the Town of Sevastopol, the son of Fred and Else (Diefenbach) Wilke. Fred graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School where he was an outstanding track athlete. On June 14, 1958, he married Irene Ann Bongle at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Valmy.

     Fred had worked for Nebel Construction, Bay Ship, Manitowoc Inc., Christi Corp, and farmed on his family dairy farm, a legacy lasting 136 years. Fred also owned and operated Wilke Masonry.

     Fred was a loving father and husband who always had an answer if you had a question or needed something done. He enjoyed hunting, manufacturing, and selling yard art, and making wood furniture for family and friends.

     Survivors include his wife, Irene; five sons, Randy (Cheryl) Wilke, Wade (Gail) Wilke, Brian (LeeAnn) Wilke, Kevin (Tricia) Wilke, David (Gwen) Wilke; grandchildren, Kyle (Kacie) Wilke, Kirk (Rachel) Wilke, Kendra (Corey) Delahut, Kayla Wilke, Jason (Amanda) Wilke, Ryan Wilke, Lindsay Wilke, Amber Wilke, Trevor (Emily) Wilke, Andrea and Alissa Wilke, Rebecca, Rachel and Ruth Wilke, Dakota Wilke; and nine great-grandchildren.

     Preceding him in death was his parents; son, “Timmy” Timothy Wilke; grandson, Gerald T. Wilke; great-granddaughter, Elsie Wilke; and sisters Mildred (Rolland) Ehlers, Dorothy (Robert) Rish, Grace (Gary) Schumacher, and Shirley Wilke.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Valmy with Pastor Peter Martin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

     Friends may call Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Huehns Funeral Home and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. A devotion will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Huehns Funeral Home.

     Memorials may be given in Fred’s memory to St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Sturgeon Bay.
