Arvin G. Dexheimer

     Arvin G. Dexheimer passed peacefully on the evening of December 12, 2023.

     Arvin was born June 9, 1939 to Milton Dexheimer and Pearl Zettel. He lived his entire life in Door County, graduating from Sevastopol School and working for local companies including Santa Rose Shoe, Peterson Builders and Emerson Electric.

     He married the love of his life, Judi Marie Haen in 1960 culminating in over 63 years of happy marriage. Together they raised five children, Craig, Blane, Darci, Deb and Daren. Arvin was a faithful and loving husband and devoted father. He will be remembered for his sharp wit and ability to repair almost anything.

     With his children, he displayed great patience as he shared his knowledge and attended his children’s events, vigilantly assessing so he could provide tips and pointers. He served as coach, cubmaster and Door County Fish Farm & Game Club president.

     Arvin loved to be outdoors tinkering on machines and watching his “critters”. He also loved snowmobiling, deer hunting, at which he was very successful, and time in his beloved leather recliner.

     Arvin was preceded by his son, Daren; parents, Milton Dexheimer and Pearl Meyer; infant brother, Milton; in-laws, David Colombo, Harvey (Helen) Haen and Dan Haen.

     Arvin will be missed by his wife, Judi; children, Craig (Nancy), Blane (Amy) [their children, Ryan and Rachel], Darci (Bill) Zingrebe [their daughters, Bryn and Bree], Deb Dexheimer [her daughter, Brooke]; Daren’s daughters, Summer (Joey) [their son, JJ] and Taylor; sister, Candance Colombo; in-laws, Donna (Harvey) Jorns, John (Karen) Haen; Yvonne (Jim) Koeppel; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

     Arvin’s life will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Huehns Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Scharrig officiating.

     Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Huehns Funeral Home.
