Janet Mary Haskell, 91, Sturgeon Bay passed away on December 16, 2023, at Sturgeon Bay Health Services. She was born on July 5, 1932, to Louis and Dorothy (Long) Fernandez. She was married to Roger in Sturgeon Bay on December 19, 1980, he preceded her in death on February 8, 2012.
Janet’s church family was important to her especially her relationship with Jesus Christ. She loved her grandchildren dearly and always had lollipops available for them. Janet also enjoyed sewing, puzzles, and loved to laugh, talk, and visit. She enjoyed taking rides with her husband in the parks.
She is survived by her 5 children David (Kathy) Gabert Jr., Celia (Randy) LaVenture, Susan Oliver, Cynthia Cihlar, Julie (Steve) Lau; daughter-in-law Judy Gabert; 4 step-children Marilyn (Bob) D’Entremont, Carol Kinnard, Sue Cisneros, Robert (Cathy) Haskell; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Richard Fernandez, Daniel (Darlene) Fernandez, Thomas (Sharon) Fernandez; and her sister Dorothy (Jonathan) Krauss.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; sons, George Gabert and John Gabert; step-son, Wayne Haskell; sisters, Mary (Clayton) Feest, Margaret Schrieber; brother, Michael Fernandez; sister-in-law, Patricia Fernandez; and special friend, Juanita Lallemont.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 19, 2023, at Forbes Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Englebert officiating.
