Charles Gulley

Charles Robert Gulley, 90, Forestville, passed away December 24, 2023, at the Meng Hospice Residence in DePere.
Charles was born November 11, 1933, in West Frankfort, IL to Amon and Nina (Waller) Gulley.
Chuck attended and graduated from the Frankfort School system, where he played basketball and baseball.  
He attended Murray State University, before the draft started and he joined the U.S. Coast Guard, where he served four years.  After he was discharged he came up to Sturgeon Bay.  In 1956, he joined the Door County Sheriff's Department and then in 1974, he attended the FBI Academy at Quantico, Virginia, for 12 weeks. He worked for the Door County Sheriff's Department for 33 years.
Chuck enjoyed watching all his grandchildren at their sporting events, watching the Chicago Cubs, Green Packers, going to the Bullpen for a beer and a cheeseburger and the Village Kitchen for breakfast with his long time friends, Tom and Ray.
In 1956, Chuck married Joan Abrahamson.  They were blessed with two sons, Amon and Charles.  She preceded him in death in 1986.  In 1989 he married Gayle Chaudoir Delarwelle.  
Chuck is survived by his wife Gayle, two sons Amon Gulley and Charles (Sharon) Gulley; three grandchildren Shauna (Neil) Wagner, Austin (Morgan) Gulley and Jeremy (Jeanna) Moegenburg ; great grandchildren Alana and Rhea Rose, Clayton, Emory, Mason and Milo Gulley; step children Steve (Tree) Delarwelle, Lisa (Bill) Colombo, Scott (Jill) Delarwelle and Chris (Sheryl) Delarwelle; step grandchildren Justin, Kayla and Kaitlyn Colombo, Jenna (Mike) Kessenich, Cory (Abby) Delarwelle, Casey Delarwelle, Teagan and Abbey Delarwelle and Cade and Brynn Delarwelle; step great grandchildren Finley Colombo, Grace Williams, Hayes and Lillian Kessenich and Bennett Delarwelle.
Chuck was further preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Chuck will be Friday, December 29, 2023, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Father Ryan Krueger officiating.  Burial in the church cemetery with Full Military Rites at the graveside.  
The family wants to give a special thank you to the gals from Unity Hospice for all their kindness and care given to Chuck.
