Karen A. Jome

Karen A. Jome, 81, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Jan. 18, 2024, at the Skilled Nursing Facility in Sturgeon Bay.  She was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Door County to Franklin and Agnes (Roble) Jome.

Karen loved living the “rural” life and spent most of her life working on the family farm.  She was a great help to her parents for many years.  Their family life revolved around church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in other activities.

As an avid sports fan, Karen loved to cheer on the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers.  She also enjoyed family gatherings, especially during the holidays.

Karen is survived by her brother Bob (Ruth) Jome, Manitowoc; nephew Eric (Janine) Jome, Franklin; niece Kirsten Robley, Manitowoc; and many cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Diane and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at Tanum Forest Lutheran Church with the Rev. Peter Mannoja officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Tanum Forest Lutheran Church or the Parkinson’s Foundation in her name.   Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family.  On-line condolences may be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com

Special thank you to the entire staff at the Pete and Jelaine Horton Skilled Nursing Facility for their wonderful care and support.
