John C. Heikkila, 82, Sturgeon Bay, passed away at his home on May 21, 2024. He was born July 17, 1942, in Iron River, Michigan to John and Marian (Fredrickson) Heikkila. John served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Quality Assurance officer for the Department of Defense. On November 21, 1964, he married Angela Lawrence in Luton Bedfordshire, England. He enjoyed the Northwoods, hunting and going to the hunting camp. He also enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan, working on guns and chain saws, music, and playing the trumpet. Survivors include his wife; three children, John (Mary) Heikkila, Ishpeming MI; Robert (Shanna Anders) Heikkila, Algoma; Sherry (Tim) Etes, Madison; Eight grandchildren, John, Jake, Shelby, Josh, Sam, Nathan, Brielle, and Weston; two great grandchildren, John and Lucas; In Law, Lee Hoglind. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Janice Hoglind and Dorothy (Joe) West. There will be no public funeral services. Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family.
