June M. Kirchman

June M. Kirchman, 87, Algoma, passed away, Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Autumn's Journey.  She was born June 23, 1936 in Rio Creek to the late Elmer and Violet (Hanmann) Breitlow.


June graduated from Casco High School in 1954 and went on to get her Beautician's license.


June married Willard "Fuzz" Kirchman September 13, 1958, at St. John's Lutheran Church.  


She started her working career at Stradling's Beauty Shop in Algoma. Later, June owned her own shop, June's Beauty Salon in Rio Creek, until they moved to Algoma in 1981.    She then went to work at Jelain's Beauty Shop and continued cutting hair in her home for family and friends.


June enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Attending their  sporting events was very important to her.  She also enjoyed playing cards, spending time at the camper, cooking, making Easter lilies and ham rollups.  Friday nights were spent going out to eat with friends.


June was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid.
June is survived by her four children Rhonda (Bob) VanLanen and their children, Ryan (Amanda) VanLanen and Tyler (Teal) VanLanen; Todd (Ann) Kirchman and their family, Craig (Kendell) Kirchman and Lindsey (David) VanDreese; Dr. Lance (Sue) Kirchman and their family, Taylor (Kylie) Kirchman and Cole (Katie) Kirchman; Marsha (Troy) Mattson and their family, Morgan and Brooke Mattson; seven great grandchildren and one on the way; four sisters-in-law Sue Breitlow, Karen Breitlow, Barb (John) Rogers and Judy Kirchman; many nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard "Fuzz" Kirchman on October 17, 2012, two brothers Albert Breitlow and Dale Breitlow,  in-laws Herman (Beatrice) Kirchman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ruth (Alfred) Paradise, Rod (Pearl) Jadin, Larry Kirchman.


Visitation for June will be Sunday, June 2, 2024 at St. John's Lutheran Church from 12:00 PM until the time of services at 4:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Christopher Jackson officiating.


The family wants to give a special thank you to Jennie Pavlat and the staff at Autumn's Journey for all the care and kindness giving to June and her family.


In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given  to St. John's Lutheran Church in memory of June.


The Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, was entrusted with the arrangements for June and her family.
