Susan M. Dietrich

Susan Mary Dietrich, 74, of Egg Harbor, passed away on July 3, 2024. She was born Jan. 26, 1950, in Green Bay to Gerald and Dorothy (Eisenreich) Herzog. On Sept. 15, 1973, she married Dennis R. Dietrich at the United Methodist Church in Egg Harbor. After graduation from NWTC’s Nursing Program, Susan worked as a nurse for Drs. Brooks and Sheets in Sturgeon Bay, for Door County Memorial Hospital, and for Scandia Village Nursing Center. She also worked on the family farm in the Town of Jacksonport. Susan was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Egg Harbor. In her early years she enjoyed boating, swimming, water skiing, and spending time at the Suamico cottage. She also liked doing crossword puzzles, eating saltwater taffy, and she loved animals, especially her kitties. Susan loved spending time sitting with her husband on the banks of Lost Lake. Susan will always be remembered as a very loving and generous person who performed many acts of kindness during her life, often putting others before herself. She was an excellent conversationalist who easily spoke with anyone and made efforts to include others in conversation and activities so no one was ever left out. As a non-judgmental person, she was also known as a very good listener. Survivors include her husband Dennis, 3 children, Lori (Dave) Klevesahl of Black Creek, Ryan Dietrich of West Jacksonport and Eric (Nicole) Dietrich of Brussels; 4 grandchildren, Connor and Logan Klevesahl, Claire and Watson Dietrich; 2 sisters, Carol (Bob) Hogan, Kathy (Bob) Thomas; 3 brothers, Patrick Herzog, Rick (Laura) Herzog, Michael (Mary Chris) Herzog, and sister-in-law, Elaine Goehring. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Marlene and Franklin Martens, and Timothy Goehring. Funeral services will be 6:00 pm Wednesday July 10, 2024, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
