John Vogel

John Francis Vogel, 70, Gardner, passed away in Green Bay on July 9, 2024. He was born November 10, 1953, in Sturgeon Bay to Ervin and Christine (Cherney) Vogel. On October 16, 1993, he married Jean Ann Thomas in Maplewood. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2020. John loved to tinker on his farm and with his tractors and was proud of his tractor collection. He was the ultimate collector of stuff, and always found value in everything. John enjoyed playing bingo and was a member of the Gardner Men’s Club. Survivors include his three brothers, Tony (Mary) Vogel, Brussels; Mike (Peggy) Vogel, Green Bay; Tom (Della) Vogel, Rio Creek; two nieces, Jennifer and Kayla Vogel; four nephews, Nick, Steve, Josh and Joe Vogel; one sister-in-law, Mary Vogel; a step-daughter, Jennifer Bastien and her children, Parker, Cora, Bailey and Carter; a step-son, Greg (Jen) Bastien; special cousin, Theresa; and special friends, Tom and Alice. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jean and a brother, Bob Vogel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood with Rev. Bill Brunner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday. In-lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to DoorCANcer. Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family.
