Milton LeRoy Magle
Milton LeRoy Magle, known affectionately as Milt, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at the age of 81 in Olathe, KS. Milt lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, faith and deep familial love. Milt was Born on June 25, 1943, in Sturgeon Bay, WI, son of LeRoy Magle and Bernice (Pontzloff) Magle. In 1961 he graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School where he met his wife Beryl (Kimber) Magle whom he married August 22nd, 1964. Together, they raised two children, Melinda and Matthew. After graduation, Milt proudly served his country in the Air Police while enlisted in the Air Force and stationed at the Strategic Air Command in Omaha, NE. He was selected to be a member of both the SAC Elite Guard and the SAC Drill Team. Milts service was a testament to his dedication, discipline and patriotism. After serving in the Air Force, Milt returned to Sturgeon Bay and worked at Peterson Builders where he did electrical work. He then spent the next 42 years working for the same company through various acquisitions. His job led him to Sturgis, Michigan, Mequon, Wisconsin and eventually Lenexa, KS. Milt retired in July 2007 to spend more time with his family. Milt was a devout member of the Lenexa United Methodist Church, where he found spiritual solace and community. He completed the Citizen Police Force Training and volunteered with the Lenexa Police Department. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing (activities that reflected his love for craftsmanship ant the outdoors), cheering on the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his family- especially on trips to Hawaii! He is survived by his loving wife, Beryl, of 59 years, their children, Melinda Jerome (Dave) of Overland Park, KS and Matthew Magle (Kelleigh) of Olathe, KS. Milt was a cherished grandfather to four grandchildren, Zachary, Whitney, Logan, and Amanda. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Busse, father, LeRoy Magle, and stepfather, Ellsworth Busse. A Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00p.m. on Thursday, August 8th, 2024 at Lenexa United Methodist Church, 9138 Caenen Lake Rd, Lenexa, KS 66215. An Interment Ceremony will be held at a later date in Door Couty, Wisconsin, Milts final resting place. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Lenexa United Methodist Church, causes close to Milt's heart. Porter Funeral Home in Lenexa, KS, is assisting the family during this time. Milt's legacy of love and service will be remembered by all who knew him.
