Kerry W. Moore

Kerry W. Moore, age 76, passed away on August 16, 2024 peacefully at home in Sister Bay after a long battle with colon cancer. He was born June 20, 1948, in Sturgeon Bay to the late John and Arlene (Birmingham) Moore. Kerry graduated from Sevastopol High School and married Linda Hasenjager on September 10, 1966. He worked hard throughout his life, including many years at Doerr Electric and later operating and growing Moore Property Services with Linda. Kerry showed his devotion to his family through his cooking, including making Turducken every Christmas. He had fun having drinks with family and friends at their cabin, or playing a game of “poker pool” at home with the grandkids. His workdays started early but were made more enjoyable by the guys who showed up for coffee at “the shop.” He retired in 2017 to become a dedicated caregiver for Linda. Kerry is survived by his wife, Linda; and three children, Kristi (Abe) Ploor, Andrew (Tami) Moore and Kelsey Moore. He loved watching his five grandchildren grow up, Darin (Amanda) Ploor, Kimberly (Jeff) Dart, Mark (Kolby) Ploor, Garrett Moore and Jonathan Moore. He also had five great-grandchildren, Ian, Griffin, Hallie, Logan and Blake. He is also survived by his brother, Dick (Nanci) Moore and in-laws, June Kruetter, Don Hasenjager, Elaine (Don) Neinas, Glenn (Penny) Hasenjager, Leon (Rosemary) Hasenjager and Clyde (Linda) Hasenjager. Kerry was preceded in death by in-laws, Alan (Audrey) Hasenjager, Clyde Kruetter, Anita Hasenjager, Barbara Hasenjager and Elton (Audrey) Neinas. “Thank you to Unity Hospice and all the professionals who supported Kerry in his care, and to Huehns Funeral Home for handling the final arrangements.” “Thank you to long-time friends Greg Tomah and Linda Reutter for your friendship and support. Our family is very grateful for your kindness.” Per Kerry’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Huehns Funeral Home of Sturgeon Bay is assisting the Moore family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Kerry may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.HuehnsFuneralHome.com.
