Edith

Edith “Edie” Faye Bushman, 80, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully, Tuesday night, August 13, 2024. Edie was born, August 25, 1943, in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late Frank Keith and Doris Marie (Draeb) Ullsperger. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1961 and attended U.W. Oshkosh. Edie married Bruce Ellis Miller on November 30, 1963, in Sturgeon Bay. He passed in 1971. On August 25, 1972, she married Michael John Bushman and later divorced. Edie worked at First National Bank, which later became Associated Bank, in Sturgeon Bay for many years. She retired in December 2006. She was an avid sports fan and could be found cheering loudly in the bleachers at many of her family’s sporting events. On the weekends she would wear her red and white attire on Saturdays while cheering for the Badgers, and green and gold on Sundays to back the Pack. It wouldn’t be surprising if her apartment neighbors could hear her chanting “Go Pack Go!!”. Edie enjoyed traveling, keeping in touch with family, and spending time with all her cherished friends. She will be deeply missed by her children, Kirk (Martha) Bushman and Michelle (Tom) Schinktgen; grandchildren, Kaley (Bobby) Lee, Kyle Bushman, and Devin, Derek and Danielle Schinktgen; great-grandchild, Ayla Lee; sister, Grayce (Chuck) Brann; and ex-husband, Michael Bushman. Edie was preceded in death by her parents; and first husband. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Huehns Funeral Home (1414 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay) with Fr. Anthony Birdsall officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, September 14, 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Edie’s honor to Door CANcer, Inc, Unity Hospice, or the Door County Cancer Center. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Edie may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www.HuehnsFuneralHome.com.
