Allan "Al" B. Tanck

Allan "Al" B. Tanck, of Sturgeon Bay passed away on September 16, 2024. Al was born December 17, 1946, in Sturgeon Bay to Elmer Tanck and Viola Marshall. He graduated from Sevastopol High School with the class of 1965. He married Ann Schartner on April 29, 1967. Al served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969. He worked as a service technician for AT&T until his retirement. After he retired, he enjoyed part-time work driving service trucks. Al loved hunting, fishing, Door County league baseball, and watching his grandkids play sports. His pristine nature and remarkable ability to fix and preserve left a lasting impact. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann; three children, Brenda (Carl) Tebon of Dubuque, Iowa, Andy (Brooke) Tanck of Sturgeon Bay, Ryan (Laura) Tanck of Sturgeon Bay; grandchildren Erica (Craig da Silva), Elly and Rachel Tebon, Drew, Bo, Lauren and Violet Tanck; sister-in-laws, Shirley Tanck and Helen Henschel; brother-in-laws, Arnie Schartner and Bill Junion; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sibling Elmer Tanck; his father and mother-in-law, Louis and Laura Schartner; and his in-laws: Doris Schartner, Louis (Ruth) Schartner, Leonard (Joan) Schartner, Donald (Shirley) Schartner, William Schartner, Carol (John) Grandbouche, Robert (Diane) Schartner, Mary Junion, Roger Henschel, Kenneth Schartner, and Evelyn Schartner. Al's family would like to thank Sturgeon Bay Health Services and the caring staff at Unity Hospice, especially Kelsie, Laura and Wendy. Per Al's wishes, his family will be holding a private celebration of life at a future date. Memorials may be made in Al's name to Door CANcer (P.O.
