Lowell Pavlik

Lowell E. Pavlik, 88, of Kolberg, passed away on October 17, 2024, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. He was born September 29, 1936, in Gardner to John and Edna (Behling) Pavlik. On April 15, 1961, he married Jane Neinas at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Algoma. Lowell graduated from Brussels High School in 1954, and then attended D/K Normal School to become a teacher. He taught in Dykesville for two years and then worked at H.J. LeRoy’s Feed Mill in Forestville. While working at the feed mill, he worked with his father-in-law building homes. Lowell eventually became a union carpenter with Local 1146 out of Green Bay, working around northeastern Wisconsin until he retired at the age of 62. In 1969, he and Jane purchased and operated a farm in Kolberg. Lowell took great pride in his community and was always known as an active supporter and leader in the Kolberg area. Lowell loved hunting and playing all sports, especially county league baseball. He was the heart and soul of the Kolberg Braves, where he played and managed for five decades. In 1992, he was inducted into the inaugural class of the Door County Baseball Hall of Fame. Lowell also played softball in numerous leagues in Door and Kewaunee Counties. He enjoyed following all his kids and grandkid’s sporting events for many years. Lowell was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Kolberg where he served on the church council and sang in the church choir Survivors include his wife; 4 children, Penny (Jim) Wautier, Polly (John) Alberts, Brian (fiancé, Judith Schuyler) Pavlik, David (Barbara) Pavlik; 8 grandchildren, Matthew Wautier, Brandon (Amanda) Wautier, Courtney (Cody) Renard, Melissa (Jeremy) Schley, Andrew (Shannon) Alberts, Nathan (Rachel) Alberts, Kelsey Pavlik, and Megan Pavlik; 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Beverly Neinas, nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and parents-in-law Ervin and Evelyn Neinas, a brother Loren (Fran) Pavlik; 2 sisters, LuVergn (Harvey) Miller and Lyla Pavlik, and brother-in-law Gerald Neinas. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2024, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Kolberg with Rev. Curt Grube officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday. Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family. On-line condolences may be offered at forbesfuenralhome.com
