On October 19, 1945, Richard “Dick” Keith Johnson was born into a family of two older sisters in Chicago, IL. His youth was divided between school in Evergreen Park, IL and working to help support his family with newspaper routes, weekend deliveries, paper stands and driving a newspaper truck at night while attending DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Dick graduated with a degree in Accounting and became a CPA. His expertise was Income Taxes and auditing Auto Dealerships, Banks, and Pension Funds. He met his loving wife, Mary Ann Berch, and was married on November 23, l968. They worked together their entire married life, in Public Accounting, then moving to Door County, WI in 1982 and opening retail stores - The Berch Tree and Branches, until 2006. Dick did everything from scoop ice cream cones to delivering furniture. In retirement he and Mary Ann enjoyed travel and being with family and new friends. Their New Year’s Eve parties became famous, often garnering 40 friends and family. Dick was always available to help with any need, compassionate, kind and soft spoken. He knew his destiny was with his Lord and Savior. He courageously battled multiple myeloma for five years.
