Joanne DeNamur

Joanne Mae DeNamur, 92, Sturgeon Bay, passed away on December 12, 2024, at Waterfall Health of Algoma. She was born June 20, 1932, in Sturgeon Bay to Edward and Louise LeCloux. She married Harry DeNamur, who preceded her in death on August 8, 2008. Joanne was a creative woman. Over the years she crocheted, painted ceramics, and gardened, Artex painted and worked on puzzles and puzzle books. She was an amazing cook; if you were to stop at her home, she was probably going to try to feed you. She also enjoyed seasonal camping with her husband. Joanne worked various jobs in Sturgeon Bay over the years including several years providing care support to an elderly woman. Joanne’ nature was caring and protective of her children and grandchildren. She had the “LeCloux” sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh. Survivors include her son Gary (Vicky) Soukup, Egg Harbor; daughters-in-law, Martha and Polly Soukup; daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Bruemmer, all of Sturgeon Bay; and son, Jeffrey DeNamur, Green Bay; five grandchildren, Greg, Richard (Jaime), Michael (Devon) Soukup, and Nathan Bruemmer, all of Sturgeon Bay; Kyle Bruemmer of Appleton; granddaughter-in-law, Pollyanna Soukup of Green Bay; six great grandchildren, Bailey (Zig) Coenen, Terah, Britni, Kylie, Dane and Sunny Soukup. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry; sons, Randy and Rick Soukup; grandson, John Soukup; brothers, Leonard, Wallace, Glen, Ralph and Edward, Jr.; sisters, Irene Gilson and Elsie Neuville; brother and sister-in-law. Funeral Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024, at Forbes Funeral Home, the Rev. Anthony Birdsall Officiating. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
