Jean C. Klemish

Jean C. Klemish, 91, passed away on January 5, 2025, at Shady Lane in Manitowoc, WI. She was born in Algoma, WI on May 26, 1933, the daughter of the late Arnold (Bud) Koutsky and Genevieve Ann (Keller). Jean was an active member of the Ladies Aid at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kewaunee. She was an organizer and volunteer at the local Red Cross blood drives and as a Gray Lady at Kewaunee Hospital. Jean's cooking skills were highlighted as a 4-H cooking leader. Another volunteer activity was as a KHS Band Parent officer while her children attended high school. She also volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center welcoming people to Kewaunee and the surrounding area. Jean's hobbies were golf, bowling, and bridge playing. She loved dancing to polka bands at local dance halls that were broadcast on television later that month. Survivors Include daughter Kathleen {Michael) Schaub, Ripon, WI, son Todd (Dawn) Klemish, Manitowoc, WI; granddaughters Shelly (Chris) Barrell, Brownsburg, IN, Stephanie (Scott) Gabert, Minneapolis, MN; grandson Damian Klemish, Superior, WI; great-grandson Henry Barrell and great-granddaughter Emily Barrell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Thomas D. Klemish; and sister in-law Dr. Janice Klemish. Many thanks to the caretakers and staff at Laurel Grove (Shady Lane) and the wonderful caretakers with the Sharon Richardson Hospice. She was so thankful for your excellent care. Visitation will take place at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Kewaunee, on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 am with Pastor Matthew Sprunger officiating. Burial in Riverview Cemetery. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Kewaunee is assisting the Klemish family.
