Jack M. Benzinger
Jack Benzinger, 79, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on February 8, 2025, at Pinecrest Village. He was born on March 10, 1945, in Merrill, WI to Albert and Marjory (Deates) Benzinger. On February 4, 1977, he married Susan Luedeman in Marinette, she preceded him in death on September 18, 2018. Jack loved everything about the outdoors including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and 4 wheeling. He was often found spending time at his cabin which he was proud to have built. He also loved going to kids sporting events, especially soccer, and spending time throwing the ball with his dog Mollie. Jack had an extensive hat collection. He looked forward to neighborhood parties and having conversations with his friends and was known to never be far from a candy dish. Jack and Susan enjoyed taking cruises with their close friends in the Caribbean. Survivors include his five children, Marge (Todd) Engelmeyer, Oshkosh; Mike (Mae) Whitman, Egg Harbor; Linette (Richard) Radtke, Manitowoc; Chad Benzinger, Burnsville, Minnesota; Ryan (Melissa) Benzinger, Sturgeon Bay; and 8 grandchildren Carly (Tim) McNeil; Adison, Aiden, Ashton, Belle, Allyssa, Lauren, and Jessica as well as numerous great-grandchildren; siblings Gary Benzinger, Merrill; Carol (Jerry) Bird, Wausau; Sandy (Perry) Ackeret, Steven’s Point; Colleen (Larry) Lasecki, Green Bay; Scott (Julie) Benzinger, Wausau; as well as his sister-in-law, Beth (Tim) Christensen, Gillett, WI. Family preceding him include his parents, wife, father and mother-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Luedeman; Brother, Philip (Wanda) Benzinger, brother-in-law, Philip Luedeman, his sister-in-law, Lois Benzinger, his beloved pet, Mollie and special friend, Ann Peterson. Private family services will be held at a later date. He will be buried at St. John’s Cemetery in Gillett, WI. Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay is assisting the family.
