Joyce Helen Charney

Joyce Helen Charney, age 92 of Sister Bay, passed away on April 21, 2025, surrounded by her beloved children and grandchildren. She was born on September 19, 1932, in Marshfield, WI to Walter and Leone (Specht) Martin. Joyce lived her life with a strong faith, a devotion to the Blessed Mother, a quiet strength, and an overwhelming love for her family. All served her well as she and Roger raised their nine children. Throughout her life she found her strength, comfort and peace through prayer. Joyce is survived by her children; Michael (Cheryl) Charney of Joliet, IL, Debbie (Dewil) Alday of Phoenix, AZ, Terry (Robin) Charney of Green Bay, WI, Kim (Brad) Elkins of Sister Bay, WI, Ronnie Charney of Ellison Bay, Kelly (Tamara) Charney of Sister Bay, Todd Charney of Ellison Bay, Tammy (Andy) Hartman of Sturgeon Bay, and Alison (Jeff) Larson of Ellison Bay, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce is further survived by sisters, Vicky (Larry) Post, Ginger (George) Lawrie, and brother, Richard (Charlotte) Bliven. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roger; brothers, Harley (Myrna) Martin, Robert Martin; and sisters, Betty (Edward) Bliven, Jean (Cletus) Eckes, Patti Goralski and June (Harold) Overby. A special thank you to the Unity Hospice nurses and the volunteers from Senior Advocacy for Independent Living (SAIL). Mass of Christian Burial will be prayed on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 11:00 am at Stella Maris Parish - Sister Bay site with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Rosalia Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the CARE 24/7 Stella Maris food pantry, P.O. Box 49, Egg Harbor WI 54209. Casperson Funeral Home in Sister Bay is assisting the Charney family.
