Dale "Boots" Ploor

Dale H. “Boots” Ploor, 86, of Sturgeon Bay passed away on July 14, 2025, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side with the support of Unity Hospice. He was born on July 7, 1939, in Sturgeon Bay to Pfeifer and Elvira (Renier) Ploor. Dale attended Corpus Christi Grade School where he served as an alter boy. He graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1957. He worked at Wrought Washer, Peterson Shipbuilders and Amerifab until his retirement in 2005. Dale married Arlene Kipp on May 25, 1963, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Brussels. Dale enjoyed boating and riding his Harley with Arlene in Northern Wisconsin and the U.P. He taught his daughter Kay to ride at a young age and enjoyed riding with her at his side. He was happiest while working on projects in the garage and yard. He gave many cats a good home and enjoyed relaxing in the yard with the cats at his feet. Survivors include his wife Arlene; daughter, Kay (Aaron) Lutze; brother Don (Sam) Ploor and special cousin Peggy Braun; sisters-in-law Janet Kaye and Linda (Alan) Kintopf; brothers-in-law Joe (Mary) Kipp and Roger Kipp; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pfeifer and Elvira Ploor; in-laws, William and Lena Kipp; sisters and brothers in-law Wallce and Lois Kipp, Ellard Kaye, Kay Slaasted, Bill and Carol Kipp, John and Judy Engebose and Julie Kipp. A mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood.
