David Lloyd

On October 20, 2025, a sunny and crisp autumn day, David Lloyd passed to eternal peace with his four children and his dog at his bedside. David was born February 22,1939 to Thomas Lloyd and Pauline (O’Brien) Lloyd, who lived in Fessenden, ND and eventually moved to Oshkosh, WI. When he was 17 years old, David enlisted in the Marine Corps where he worked on aircraft and learned valuable skills that served him a lifetime. He was a skilled builder, metal worker, and entrepreneur – opening his own HVAC business. He enjoyed nature, hunting, and fishing. Ultimately, it was his love of fishing that brought him to Sturgeon Bay, WI – a community he called home for more than 45 years with his wife Janice, whom he married in 1972. Together, David and Janice enjoyed the pace of life in Door County, travelling throughout the United States, even making it to Alaska and Hawaii. During his retirement David enjoyed restoring collector cars. He could be seen riding through town in his 1965 Chevy Impala, 1972 Ford LTD, or 1978 Lincoln Towncar with his dog by his side. He loved the daily routine of driving one of his old cars to his regular breakfast haunt, Wall Street Journal in hand, where he knew the staff well and had many breakfast buddies. Survivors include his children, Mark (Judy) Lloyd, Lori Fritz, Wendy Lloyd, and Brad Lloyd (fiancé Kim Gruendemann); nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren; his four siblings, Janice Clark, WA, Connie (Gordy) Peterson, WA, Carmen (Jack Capel) Claypool, OH, and Tom (Pam) Lloyd, WI. David was preceded in death by his wife, Janice, his brother Earl Lloyd, and his grandson Mitch Lloyd. Funeral services will be held at Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay, WI on Thursday, October 30 at 4:00 pm. Visitation from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. David will be laid to rest in the Bethesda Welsh Cemetery Oshkosh, WI during a private ceremony with military honors.
