Don Edward Daubner

Don Dauber 79, Algoma, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, at Autumns Journey. Don was born on January 14, 1946, to the late Marvin and Sarah (Alears) Daubner. Don grew up on the family farm in Carlsville with two brothers and four sisters who were raised strong in their faith. He attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic School and Abbot Pennings High School. In 1964 he enlisted in the Navy for four years and often shared his stories of sailing around the world. Upon his return to Door County, he met Linda (Lynch) and they were married on April 24, 1971, at St. Peter and Paul in Institute. They built a family filled with faith and love and raised three children, Stacey, Stephanie and Scott. Don had a love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved baseball and was behind the plate either as the catcher for the Ports or umpiring the Door County League games. Sundays included morning church and a baseball game somewhere in Door County. He loved going to the race track to cheer on his son-in-law’s and was one of their number one fans. Don had a strong work ethic and was a proud paver operator for Payne and Dolan (Northeast Asphalt), among other jobs. After retirement, he and Linda took road trips and he enjoyed showing off the roads he paved throughout Wisconsin and Michigan. Don’s love for his family was evident and he was proud to become grandpa to six beautiful little people – Corrina, Cassie, Morgan, Emma, Everett and Easton. Most recently he was the proud great-grandpa to Kolson, Braxten and Parker. Don is survived by his wife, Linda. His children – Stacey (Todd) Dart, Stephanie (Bernie) Reinhardt, Scott (Jenny) Daubner; grandchildren – Corrina (Alec) Wery and their children Kolson and Parker, Cassandra (Andy) Schmidt and their son Braxten, Morgan & Emma Reinhardt, and Everett and Easton Daubner. He is further survived by his siblings: Mae (Ron) Bouche, Aaron (Rita) Daubner, Hugh Daubner, Jane (Jeff) Bobb, Carol (Dan) Hanson, and Darlene (Dave) Kezar; brother and sister-in laws: Leon Gezella, Jim (Darlene) Lynch, John (Barb) Lynch, Kathy (Dick) Stuewer, Debbie (Don) Londo, Ken Lynch, David (Cheri) Lynch, Laurie (Bart) Starr; Godchildren - Jeff Bobb, Terry Daubner, Katie Daubner and Clayton Hanson; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Sarah, his in-laws Marvin and Ruth Lynch and sister-in-law Bonnie Gezella. Visitation for Don will be Friday, November 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM at St. Mary Church until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Father Timothy Machila officiating. Military honors to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Our family would like to thank Unity Hospice, and especially Don’s daughter-in-law Jenny, who helped to make his final journey peaceful and filled with so much love. A heartfelt thank you to Autumn’s Journey - Jennie, Chad and their amazing staff who loved Don. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Don’s name can be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Algoma, WI.
