Genevieve V. Monfils

Genevieve V. Monfils, 101, Algoma, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025.

She was born in the town of Lincoln on May 26, 1924, to the late Julian and Catherine (Jandrin) Finendale. She married Richard Monfils on June 12, 1945. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm in Rosiere for 33 years. Genevieve and her husband Richard graduated from Police Science school at N.W.T.C., Green Bay. They were Deputy Sheriffs for Kewaunee County for 27 years. Genevieve was the Casco Legion Auxiliary Secretary for 34 years.

She enjoyed baking, making afghans, and doing word searches. Genevieve is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Romuald; grandchildren, Paula (Erik) Rasmussen, Scott Romuald; great-grandchildren, Grant Rasmussen (friend Summer), Brooklyn Rasmussen (friend Zack); sister, Helen Annoye. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; son-in-law, David Romuald; brothers and sisters, Magdeline (Emery) Bellin, Agnes (Henry) LeDocq, Marvin (Helen) Finendale, Catherine (Vernie) Monfils; and brother-in-law, Elmer Annoye.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – CASCO. Visitation will continue Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 9:30 am – 10:45 am at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CHURCH IN SUGARBUSH. Mass will follow at 11:00 am with Fr. Patrick Beno officiating. Entombment at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family. Online condolences can be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
