Larry Peterson

Larry Peterson, 70, of Sturgeon Bay, WI, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, in Green Bay, surrounded by his daughter Kelly, grandson Ethan, and partner Gail Austin.

Born on May 8, 1955, in Lee, IL, Larry was a carpenter through and through, a man who could make trim work look like art and who found his greatest satisfaction in creating beautiful things with his hands. His craftsmanship spoke for itself in every home he touched, every project he perfected.

If you knew Larry, you knew a man with a quick wit and a joke always at the ready, an extremely talented tradesman, and an avid food connoisseur who took his recipes seriously. He loved a good laugh - both telling jokes and hearing them. He showed his love through providing, through checking in, through the banter and conversations that meant more than he probably ever said out loud.

Larry had a way of showing he cared in moments that mattered, like asking if you were okay before worrying about anything else. He was real, genuine, and present in ways both big and small.

Larry is survived by his partner, Gail Austin; his children, Kelly Schwartz-Peterson, Ryan Peterson, and Reagan Peterson; his grandson, Ethan Schwartz-Davis and two additional grandchildren; and sister, Shari Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Janice and brother, Randy Peterson.

In his final moments, Larry found the peace those who loved him had wished for him for years. He knew he was loved. Rest easy, Larry.

Huehns Funeral Home, Inc. & Cremation Services in Sturgeon Bay, WI is assisting the Peterson family.

Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Larry may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.HuehnsFuneralHome.com.
