LaVerne K. Zuroske, 65, of Algoma, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 16, 2026, in the early morning hours.

She was born February 7, 1960, to Bob and Delores (Tesnow) Brown. LaVerne graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1978 and went on to build a dedicated career as a postal clerk, retiring after 26 years with the United States Postal Service.

On August 4, 2001, she married John Zuroske, who survives her. LaVerne was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, cherishing time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her hobbies included skiing, bowling, spending time with her dog Roen, attending church picnics, and visiting with friends—and truly anyone she met. She was known for her warm heart and welcoming spirit.

LaVerne is survived by her husband, John; children, Nicole Worley, Taylor Worley, and Brook Zuroske; stepchildren, Michael and Cory Zuroske; grandchildren, Isaiah Worley, Liliah Stuth, Suvi Worley, and Eilo Worley; step-grandchildren, Brianna and Zoey Zuroske; mother, Delores Brown; siblings, Scott Brown and Connie (Brad) Hale; nephews, Robert Peterson and Tyler Brown; and niece, Rachel Hale.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
