Marilyn A. Massart

Marilyn A. Massart, 94, Brussels, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 24, 2026.

Born on October 29, 1931, in Kewaunee County, to the late George and Anna (Bouche) Detampel Sr. She married Charles J. Massart, Jr. on June 17, 1953, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Lincoln.

Marilyn made her mark in the community, serving as a dedicated teacher in Rosiere, working on the farm, and co-owning Charlie’s Pump and Well Drilling with her husband. She was an active past member of the Brussels Lions Club and the Catholic Order of Foresters Ladies, attending many International Lions Conventions. She also worked diligently as a poll worker for elections in the Town of Brussels for many years. And, when not working hard, she loved to travel.

Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband, Charles “Charlie” Massart, Jr.; children, Chuck (Kathy) Massart, Bob (Sue) Massart, Linda (Tom) Salzsieder; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kate), Ryan (Michelle), Marie, C.J. (Tiffany), Jason (Jen), Eric (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Mason, Anna, Levi, Sawyer, Justin, Jonathon, Jillian, Nathan, Caroline, and William; brother, Jim (Carol) Detampel; brother-in-law, Mark Massart; sisters-in-law, Patricia Detampel, Mag Havel, Kathleen (Don) Leurquin. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Massart; parents, George and Anna Detampel; father- and mother-in-law, Charles and Emily Massart; brothers, Norbert (Marcella) Detampel, George Detampel, Jr. in-laws, Joe (Doris) Massart, Cletus Havel, Ruth (Cletus) Simon, Jennie (Bill) Merline, and Marge Massart.

A visitation will take place Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Casco, with a prayer service at 3:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Hubert Catholic Church – Rosiere, on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Timothy Machila officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
