Posted Sunday Evening
Janet Rochelle Schultz, 86, of Sturgeon Bay was welcomed into the arms of her loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 5, 2026. She was born May 1, 1940, in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada to Delbert and Frances (Strong) Calcutt. She and her husband Jack (John E. Schultz) met on a blind date in Canada in 1960. They were married on September 1, 1962, in London, Ontario, Canada. Janet and Jack owned and operated the Tip Top Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Sturgeon Bay for many years, retiring in 2004. Janet became a born-again Christian in 1968 and was a long time and active member of the Friends Church in Sturgeon Bay. She was extremely passionate about her Christian faith. She lived her life sharing her love of Jesus with everyone and anyone she met. Her outgoing personality and friendly nature made it easy for her to do so. She also had a voracious appetite for the Word of God and became a diligent, lifelong student of the Scriptures, owning numerous Bibles, marking them up with notes and comments. Janet was also an accomplished song writer, having written over a thousand songs, all reflecting her faith in the Lord. At age 75, Janet was diagnosed with cancer and her faith in the Lord carried her through all her health struggles. She never wavered in her faith nor lost her joy and love for Jesus while dealing with cancer. Janet also had a deep love for her dogs. As a child, she helped her mother raise cocker spaniels which led to a lifetime love for dogs. That passion was handed down to her daughter Tracy. Survivors include her two children, Russell J. Schultz, Green Bay and Tracy (Jeff) May, Sturgeon Bay; three grandchildren, Kaylin Schultz (Jesse Deprey), Justin (Amber) May, Trista (Zach) May-Vogel; four great grandchildren, Levi and Brielle Deprey; Everly and Howie May; her special “sister in Christ”, Jeanne Raines, many other “brothers and sisters in Christ”; and nieces and nephews in Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Keith and Larry Calcutt. A funeral service will be conducted at the Forbes Funeral Home at 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Pastor Gerry Wilson, Janet’s friend of over 45 years and her brother in Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Kolberg. Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:30 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm. Memorials may be directed to the Door County Humane Society or to Door CANcer Inc. Special thanks to the staffs of Pine Crest Village, Unity Hospice and Door CANcer Inc. for all the wonderful care a support given to Janet.
