Dianne E. Massart, 86, Algoma, passed away, Sunday July 19, 2026 at the Door County Hospital. She was born in the Township of Brussels, October 24, 1939 to Melvin and Rose (Thiry) Gilson. Dianne graduated from the Casco High School in 1957. Dianne worked at several factory jobs, before she ended her career as a Certified Nurses Assistant. Dianne was a CCD teacher for many years at St. Mary Church in Algoma and Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood. She was also a Cub Scout Leader. She enjoyed going to as many garage sales, rummage sales, thrift stores and St. Vincent DePaul stores as she could. She loved cake decorating, baking, crocheting, knitting and reading western novels. She was the grandma that made the best cinnamon bread for all of her family. She always had a home cooked meal on the table for her family. Dianne is survived by her six children Christopher (Christina), Betsy Caudle, Brian H. (Debbie), Tim (Lori), Jody and Jon; 18 grandchildren Ciji Massart, Jacquelyn (Matt) Fay, Kassandra (Cody) Henninger, Christopher Jr., Ryan (Megan) Caudle, Renee Caudle, Quentin Massart, Daphne Massart, Cory (Nicole) Massart, Stacy (Adam) Barta, Jacob (Megan) Massart, Logan, Andrew and Kaitlyn Massart, Stephany (James) Paul, and Alexis, Samantha and Margaret Massart; 25 great grandchildren Juliet, Eden, Natalie (Freddy) Wyatt, Cooper, Anabelle, Dylan, Cora, Delilah, Remi, Sebastian, Winnie, Arlo, Indy, Myles, Lettie, Tobias, Aubrey, Olivia, Gracelyn, Lainey, Hazel, Charlotte, Lincoln and Zoralyn; two sisters Joanne Blahnik and Mary Anne (Dennis) Lockstein; one brother Melvin (Mary) Gilson Jr., sister-in-law Mary Ann Gilson and brother-in-law Kenneth Rass. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Randy, five brothers Donald, Allen, Leonal, Gary and Wayne, one sister Sharon Rass and an infant sister and brother. There will be a visitation for Dianne, Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma. Visitation will continue Monday, the 27th at Holy Trinity Church, Casco from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Father Jim Dillenburg officiating.
