Joan M. Malvitz, 72, formerly of Door County, passed away at her home in Green Bay on Monday evening, August 10, 2026. She was born on October 28, 1953, in Milwaukee to the late Norman and Bernice (McMahon) Malvitz. Joan was a graduate of Southern Door High School with the class of 1972. She attended Truck Driving School and was employed as an over-the-road truck driver and then a recruiter until her retirement. She was an original member and lead singer of the Malvitz Sisters. Joan also played the accordion and organ and she loved country music. Joan is survived by one son: Shawn (Mary) Neuville; two grandchildren: Courtney and Hannah (fiancé Josh Brud) Neuville: brothers and sisters: Gerald (Sally) Malvitz, her twin sister Jacalyn Malvitz, Theresa Malvitz, Norman Jr. (Jean) Malvitz and Jeffrey Malvitz; nieces and nephews, Valerie (Jeff) Espe, Hope Reyes, Jennifer Wiltz, Jasmine (Chad) Wittkopf, Jeremiah (Chrystal) Sargent, Jerald (Tasha) Malvitz, Jerome (Holly) Malvitz, Christopher Anderson, Jordan Sargent; several great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends also survive as well as her dog, Reba and grand pups, Leia and Enzo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Bernice Malvitz, a sister Barbara Anderson; an infant brother, Norman and a niece Michelle Wiltz. Visitation for Joan will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Forbes Funeral Home, 319 W Spruce St. Sturgeon Bay.
