Albert "Mickey" John Beard

Albert John Beard, "Mickey" to those who knew and loved him, 78, of the Town Liberty Grove, fell asleep in the loving arms of his family and awoke in the arms of the Lord, Sunday morning, August 9, 2026. He was born May 17, 1948 in Sturgeon Bay, the son of the late Barney and Dorothy (Schill) Beard. Mickey graduated from Gibraltar High School. He met Sharon Ann Grovogel in the summer of 1969, and they were united in marriage on December 6, 1969 at the Sister Bay Moravian Church and blessed with over 54 years of marriage. Together, Albert and Sharon resided in the Town of Liberty Grove. They continued to dairy farm on his family farm for many years. Albert was known as the Pumpkin Man for over 40 years. The family provided fresh produce to local restaurants and stores. Together, he and Sharon owned the Fashion Emporium in Ellison Bay for seven years in the 1970's. Farming was everything to Mickey and early in his life he also ran family farms with others being sent into the draft and into war. He also worked at the Fruit Growers. Albert's spiritual enrichment was enriched with the Gospel Hall congregation in Jacksonport. Surviving family includes his children, Jesse Kellstrom of Ellison Bay, Carla Kellstrom of Rhinelander, Shelly (Bart) Olson of Ellison Bay, and Kelly (Brad Ohnesorge) Scoon of Ellison Bay; grandchildren, Shawna Stuth, David Martin, Jesse Rose Scholz, Joshua Martin, Corey Van Egeren, Deanna Van Egeren, Kristine McLain, Sarina Oger-Beard, Keegan Olson, Derek Beard, Jonathan Haskell, Landon Olson, Autumn Scoon, Alex Scoon; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Arleen Birr; and his dog, Kevin. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Sharon; son, Kenneth Kellstrom; daughter, Stacey Beard; and two brothers, Edward Fitzgiven, and Robert Beard. Everyone is invited to attend the graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Rowley’s Bay Cemetery in the Town of Liberty Grove. Memorials may be given in his memory to the Wisconsin Humane Society - Door County Chapter. "Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rory Johnson as well as the staff of Unity Hospice for the wonderful care you gave to our dad."
