Rockers top Jackrabbits in extra innings

The Green Bay Rockers needed an extra frame with an extra run to beat the visiting Kokomo Jackrabbits 4-3 at home Thursday night.

The Rockers jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first inning when they earned two bases-loaded walks. The Jackrabbits would tie the game in the fourth and take the lead in the tenth before the Rockers plated another pair in their half of the extra inning when Carlos Hernandez registered a run-scoring single and later scored on an error by the first baseman.

Jayson Jones registered the lone multi-hit game for the Rockers, but the team earned nine walks on the night to lead them to victory. The pitching staff struck out 12 Jackrabbits, including two by the winning pitcher Tyler Horvath in relief.
