DCBL kicks off weekend under lights on 105.1 The GOAT

The Door County Baseball League will kick off the weekend under the lights of Institute Friday night when the Cubs play host to the Sister Bay.

Last week, the Cubs fell hard to the Maplewood Mets 20-3, which included a 15-run fourth inning that saw the game fail to reach the ninth inning. Ethan Kroll and Brent Haberli drove in two of the three runs for the Cubs while Elijah Reimer took the brunt of the damage against the Mets, giving up 13 runs in his two-thirds of an inning pitched.

The Bays found success at home against Egg Harbor in a 9-2 win last Sunday. Sam Forkert was automatic on the mound for Sister Bay, going seven strong innings giving up two runs and five hits while striking out four batters. Tom Sawyer led the way offensively with three RBI in the contest.

Friday marks the first of six-night games on the Door County Baseball League schedule excluding the All-Star game at Joannes Park in Green Bay. Tim Kowols and Reece Robillard will have the call from Institute beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the first pitch at 7:30 p.m. on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. The GOAT will also be broadcasting Sunday's game at Kolberg when the Braves host Baileys Harbor.
