The Madison Mallards scored four runs in the third inning to sprint past the Green Bay Rockers to a 6-3 victory at the Duck Blind in the Capitol City Thursday night.
The Rockers took a 3-0 lead in the second inning thanks to homers by Mateo Matthews and Nainoa Cardinez, but pitcher Grayson Miller struggled in the third inning after giving up a run in the second inning. Consecutive extra-base hits cleared the bases and staked the Mallards to a 5-3 victory. The Mallards would tack on one more run later in the game to end any threat of a comeback.
The Rockers play the Mallards once more at Warner Park in Madison before returning home to play Kenosha on Saturday and Sunday.
