Washington Island wins condensed game over A's on 105.1 The GOAT

In a game that consisted of a hour long rain delay, tarps being put on the field, and just six innings being played, the Washington Island Islanders defeated the Baileys Harbor A's on 105.1 The GOAT Sunday afternoon.

With the game getting itself underway at 2:30 instead of 1:30 because of the rain, the teams were quick in and out of the dugout, and Washington Island was also quick onto the scoreboard as well. Caleb Cornell, Ben Johnson, and Bennett Isaacson were responsible for scoring the three runs in the first inning giving the Islanders an early 3-0 lead.

Ryan Jorgenson had the A's offense in the palm of his hand early, as through the first three innings of pitching, Jorgenson did not let a runner reach further than second base.

Washington Island however, would continue to rack up runs as they would bring a run home in the third and fourth inning, to make the game 5-0 into the fifth inning. The rain would then begin to pick up substantially in the fifth as Baileys Harbor was able to get a run across the board as Randy Martinez picked up another RBI scoring River Pawelski. Martinez has drove in each run in the past two games for the A's.

In the 6th, Washington Island would put the game out of reach with six hits and a plethera of pinch batters, making the score final at 12-1 after Will Henrikson shut down the bottom of the sixth inning.
