This past weekend, two DC WAVE teams competed in the 2023 WIUFC Summer Shootout in Appleton at the Scheels USA Sports Complex.   BOTH the U19 and U15 teams came in First Place in their divisions and brackets.   The Summer Shootout is Wisconsin’s largest youth soccer tournament and had over 264 teams playing over 2-days.   Teams came in from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and even Manitoba, Canada. This huge event is a fundraiser for breast cancer research and a portion of all entry fees was donated by each team that registered.

DC WAVE has attended this tournament for the last 8+ years and have always done very well and placed in the top 3 every year for the respective divisions – in 2023 they got to bring home some hardware !! The U15 team (ages 12-15) and our U19 team (ages 16-19) each took FIRST PLACE!!  The teams were coached by Derrick Bournoville and Ben DeNamur.

DC WAVE is the only Select Soccer Club in Door County, and they play under the banner of the United Soccer Club of Allouez as part of the Classic League, which consists of teams located in the East Central District of WI.   We have players from Sturgeon Bay, Algoma, Gibraltar and Sevastopol.  DC WAVE’s goal is to provide local soccer players the opportunity to develop their skills and to compete at a higher level, without having to burden parents with the travel requirements that many Green Bay and Fox Cities clubs have.     For more information, please visit their Facebook page or email at DCWave54235@gmail.com
