Sister Bay ferries to Washington Island on 105.1 the GOAT

Sister Bay and Washington Island renew their rivalry on Sunday afternoon as the Door County Baseball League season crosses deeper into the second half.

Sam Forkert had himself a Bay Day last Sunday, going eight inning on the mound and going deep with a two-run homer in a 9-1 romp over West Jacksonport as heard on 105.1 the GOAT.  The Bays have two of the top ten hitters in the league, led by Griffin Cole's .583 average. The Bays need to win to keep pace with the Kolberg Braves, who will stay at home with their own tough test against Egg Harbor Sunday afternoon.

The Islanders will play in their second straight home game after beating Institute 9-6 last Sunday. They are led by Caleb Cornell, who posts the 10th-best average in the league at .414. A win would keep them cemented in the third position of the playoff picture while a loss would send them teetering in the fourth position.

Tim Kowols and Gary Barta will have the call from Washington Island beginning at 1:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening pitch at 1:30 p.m. on 105.1 the GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. In addition to the Bays/Islanders and Braves/Indians games, Maplewood will pay a visit to Baileys Harbor.
