Mallards wait out weather, Rockers for win

It was weather for a duck and it was a night for the Mallards as Madison snuck out a victory over the Green Bay Rockers Thursday night 4-3.

The Mallards struck first in the sixth inning, but the Rockers responded with three runs in the bottom half of the frame thanks to a drop-third strike and a two-run single by Cooper Kelly. The Mallards would chip away at that lead, tying the game in the eighth inning with two runs and winning the game in the ninth inning on an RBI single by Nick Williams. The Rockers were set down 1-2-3 in the ninth inning to send the team to the loss that included a rain delay that pushed the game's conclusion to well past 10:30 p.m.

The two teams face each other again Friday night at Capital Credit Union at 6:35 p.m.
