In the final week of the season, there is more on the line than ever, and a matchup between Kolberg and West Jacksonport will have all the playoff implications.
West Jacksonport fell to Washington Island last week 8-4 to force this week to matter for their playoff lives. With Egg Harbor winning and finishing their season 9-5, the Ports will need a win or a Washington Island loss to keep them in the playoff picture. Alec Schartner swung a hot bat against the Islanders however, finishing the game with two home runs. Kolberg was able to take care of the Ports handedly in the first matchup, but West Jacksonport needs the win.
Kolberg throttled Baileys Harbor last week, and did it all by producing runs. No home runs were hit, but strong contact and pitching from Jake Schneider gave Kolberg the easy win. The Braves all but have the second seed locked up, but don't think they aren't looking to win this game and potentially play spoiler to the playoff hopes for West Jacksonport.
Gary Barta and Reece Robillard will have the call from West Jacksonport on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 1:15 pm with the pregame show and 1:30 pm for first pitch in the final week of the Door County Baseball League regular season.
Other matchups on Sunday include Sister Bay traveling to Maplewood and Baileys Harbor ferrying up to the Island to take on the Islanders.
