The cross country race synonymous with the beginning of the school year will take place once again on Thursday on the grounds of Gibraltar Area Schools and Peninsula State Park.

Gibraltar, Algoma, Crivitz, Denmark, Hilbert, Kewaunee, Luxemburg-Casco, Mauston, Oconto, Providence Academy/NEW Lutheran, Reedsville, Roncalli, Southern Door, Sturgeon Bay, and
Wausaukee will all tackle the Chief Kahquados Invitational's 5K course beginning at 2 p.m. 

Luxemburg-Casco boasted the top local teams from last year's edition, winning the boys' race and coming in second narrowly for the girls. Southern Door's Ben Grota and Sturgeon Bay's Julia Kurek are the top local runners from last year's race.
