Sturgeon Bay shuts down Kewaunee, battles Bay Port on The Pirate

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers soccer team will return to non-conference play after beating Kewaunee 3-0 in a Thursday night match.

It was the rebound match the Clippers needed after falling hard to state-power Notre Dame Academy 6-1 earlier in the week. No scoring summary was provided.

The Clippers now turn their attention to Bay Port, No scores were posted from the Pirates' scheduled matches against Appleton West and Green Bay East. The Pirates finished on top of the Fox River Classic Conference table last season but ended up losing to Arrowhead 1-0 in the regional final.

Bryan Mazur and Peter Kerwin will have the call on The Pirate (96.7 WBDK HD-2 and 103.3 FM) beginning at 6:15 p.m. with the pregame show, followed by the opening kick at 6:30 p.m.

Other Thursday results saw no results posted from Luxemburg-Casco's match against Waupaca or Algoma's game against Gibraltar/Sevastopol. The Wolves and Spartans are scheduled to face each other Friday at Luxemburg-Casco High School at 6:30 p.m.
