Sturgeon Bay, L-C golf keep busy

The regular season is winding down, but the Sturgeon Bay and Luxemburg-Casco golf teams are still finding plenty of opportunities to tune up their swings before the WIAA Tournament begins next week.

The Luxemburg-Casco golf team took 20th place in a crowded field at the Oneida Riding and Golf Club in Green Bay on Monday for the Notre Dame Academy Invite. The team shot a 462 on the day to earn their place on the leaderboard with junior Morgan DeJardin leading the way with a 110. Junior Kate Ledvina and freshman Reese Bandow scored a 112, sophomore Ashley Fameree registered a 128, and junior Marissa Annoye capped it off with a 133.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers golf team will reconvene with the rest of the Bay Conference for a Tuesday morning round in Oconto. Bonduel, NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy, Seymour, Shawano Community, West De Pere, Winneconne, and Xavier are expected to participate as well when the meet tees off at 10 a.m.

The Clippers have opted out of postseason play, but the Spartans will host a regional at Northbrook Country Club on September 27th.
