Spartans soccer celebrate breakfast with the Jets

The  Luxemburg-Casco soccer team will wake up early for its Saturday morning contest against Roncalli on Saturday.

The Spartans defeated the Gibraltar/Sevastopol United 2-0 in a non-conference soccer matchup on Tuesday evening in Luxemburg. After a scoreless first half, the Spartans broke through with a goal at the 56-minute mark by senior Johan Amador.  Luxemburg-Casco would put the game away with a late goal on a corner kick at the 75-minute mark by Ethan Vandenhouten.  Goalie Quentin Massart did not allow a goal and kept the United at bay with eight saves.

The Jets are 5-6-0 on the season, seeing a three-match winning streak disappear earlier this week with a 2-0 loss to Kiel.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.

In other soccer action, no score was reported for Algoma's match against Howards Grove/Elkhart Lake.
