Some sunshine broke through for the Luxemburg-Casco golf team during Wednesday's WIAA Regional Tournament at Northbrook Country Club as they qualified as a team for next week's sectional round.
The Spartans shot a 460 on a dreary day in Luxemburg, finishing 94 strokes behind regional champion Notre Dame Academy and 23 strokes behind second-place Fox Valley Lutheran. Morgan DeJardin shot a team-best 106 with Bowie Bredael right behind her with a 108. The scores put DeJardin and Bredael in the top 10 overall in the regional. Katie Ledvina (122), Reese Bandow (124), and Marissa Annoye (141) will also play in next week's sectional meet. Individual qualifiers are Trinity Flynn of NEW Lutheran, Katelyn Shedlosky of Denmark, and Ella Swanson of Wrightstown.
The Notre Dame Sectional at Thornberry Creek is set for next Tuesday, October 3rd.
