The Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams will hit the court for their second full week of practices.
Both men's and women's basketball held their first official practices last week, although both teams have been in the gym and the weight room getting their work in over the last few weeks.
While the women's team added a familiar face to its coaching staff, there has been enough change for the men's program already. Only three players and a couple of staff members are back with the program after going 3-29 last season and was ranked 361 out of 363 Division 1 basketball programs. Head coach Sundance Wicks has not just been focusing on X's and O's but the culture that has taken a hit since the pandemic began. Since the 2020-2021 season, the Phoenix are 16-71. The program has been trying to capture that shift in culture on its social media channels.
The Phoenix women play their first exhibition against UW Stout on October 25th while the men battle St. Norbert's on October 30th.
