The Luxemburg-Casco volleyball team will enter the WIAA Tournament with plenty of positive momentum after winning their own Spartan Invite on Saturday.

The Spartans went 5-0 on the day, winning their pool play matches against Oconto (25-14, 25-13) and Appleton East (25-16, 25-19), their crossover match to Sheboygan Falls (20-25, 25-13, 15-10), their gold bracket semi-final against Pewaukee (25-15, 25-20) and their championship match against Bay Port (25-21, 25-17).

Leading the way for the Spartans were Alayna Heurkens (110 assists and 21 digs), Aubrey Frey (45 kills, 31 digs, seven aces), and Ella Vander Velden (31 kills).

Head coach Jeff Frey was happy with how his team performed on Saturday. "I loved the way we played, especially in the afternoon," said Frey. "We brought so much energy and passion."
